Well, I might as well inaugurate the imported community with a post (seeing as how I am somewhat responsible for this import). I come bearing… not fic, sadly (I should do that at some point, it's been ages since I've written Push). But I have lists of existing fic! See, I'm a bit of a digital packrat, and when you combine that with an obsession for organizing the resulting digital hoards, you end up with things like
my fic database (linked in case anyone's curious for a further explanation than what's in this post).
Before I continue, I must make the disclaimer that these lists and data are not complete, as I did not save fics in these three categories:
a) ones that were too terribly written for me to handle (there were some of these on each platform I found fic on - ff.n, AO3, and LJ)
b) ones with content I don't go for (crossovers with fandoms I don't know, m/m, a variety of kinks—only one or two were excluded on that last basis)
c) ones I never stumbled across or could not access (the Missing Fics list has five on there that were linked to on this comm but have since either been deleted or locked)
Should you find any fics in the last category that do
not meet the first two criteria (i.e. you think they're decently written and they aren't much more kinky than liking Nick/Cassie in the first place, lol - Nick/Cassie/Kira are included in the lists, mind you) that are somewhere besides ff.n or AO3 (because I've exhausted those places) and are not on my list, please let me know. I'm sure there's Push fic on someone's LJ somewhere that I missed, and I wouldn't put it past someone to have posted something to a personal website.
Now to the results:
What I did save were 257 fics written by 142 authors, and 178 of those fics contained Nick/Cassie (as an explicitly romantic/sexual ship) in some way. (Probably the vast majority of the rest at least had Nick & Cassie - using the & / differentiation for platonic vs. romantic ships - but it would be a bit more SQL to come up with a query that would find all the Nick & Cassie that wasn't already included in the Nick/Cassie, since I tagged some fics with both. If someone really wants to know I can do that too.)
I created reports for the resulting queries, complete with author, fic title, wordcount, rating, and link to the fic online, which you can view
here if you're interested. It's not a comprehensive database of every fic out there, but it's as close as you'll probably get, since I doubt anyone else is as obsessive as I am to do this, lol. (I have a report of all my favorites—those I'd want to re-read at some point—but I didn't think it would be that useful to someone else, who undoubtedly would have a different set of criteria for what they would want to re-read.) Note the info in the FAQ in that linked folder that describes other criteria possible; if someone should want, say, a list of all the Nick/Cassie that
isn't underage in some way (the age cutoff being an arbitrary 18), I can generate a list with that, too. The reports are given in both odt and pdf form; the former is for OpenOffice/LibreOffice and will be easier to grab the links from, the latter is in case you don't have (and don't want to install, as it's free) something that can open Open Document Format (or the formatting looks all weird in the odt if you don't have the font I used - Gentium Basic). A pdf always works and you can copy/paste from it.
Most everyone has probably read all the fics on these lists, but in case you've missed one somewhere, this should be a good starting point for reading (or re-reading, given the years that have passed since they were posted). Let me know if this was useful to you at all! :)
Should I tag this as fic if it's not actually fic? There's links to links to fic, lol. I think I'll let the mod decide.
